So cultural differences, Lonely Planet reports the following message again and again:
1. Lots of honking
2. Lots of spitting
3. Lots of nervous laughter from those who do not know what you are saying
4. Lots of garbage (but squeaky clean compared to India)
5. Great food
6. Lovely people
7. Lots of music blaring everywhere
8. Racism...but in Chinese...so that's kind of overt
And the list goes on.
We're trying to figure out what to do in our window of time...first thing is get the visas...or we wont be able to enter the country at all...downtime this weekend...grasp what Beijing has to offer and set sail in my mind to faraway places imagining the reality of it all in just six weeks.
