Hearing

It is an incredible experience to share the sound of laughter. When the opportunity presents, when surrounded by people in a common space, when the laughter of many in unison begins...close your eyes...absorb it. It's wonderful. Music.

I watched someone yesterday who has stayed with me. Something very simple brought extraordinary happiness...actually just the sight of something. That wide-eyed wonder, full engagement and a broad smile. I don't know if this particular individual realized how much she impacted those around her. But for those of us who were in close proximity, each of us felt her exuberance--how she was living in that moment. If I had to give an example of what might be more universal...it was that look of amazement when a child unwraps that one gift that wasn't expected or wished for but is absolutely perfect. That moment. That intense happiness--that depth of living fully right now.

A "thank you" is not appropriate in the literal "thank you" form. But hopefully, as we move forward, each of us will have that same lightness, genuine appreciation, joy that will penetrate another.

Incredibly tired..."On the verge of everything."...and moments like the above--pure fuel.
