Resisting change

"Let’s try understanding why people resist change first. If you are willing to learn, please give this a try -- (it only takes three minutes).

1. Grab a stopwatch or timer, and print your own full name on a blank piece of paper for as many times as you can in one minute. Record the number of times.

2. Now repeat the same exercise but switch hands. Record your time again.

What happened to your quality between the first and second time?

What happened to your productivity?

Finally, what happened to your stress?

If you could not use your favorite hand for long (like it was in a cast), would your quality and productivity eventually improve? How long do you think it would take to get back to initial levels?" (Bob Petruska)
