I can be to work in 20 minutes from son’s school. Jump on the highway and it is a straight shot. But there is an option, a road that offers spectacular scenery and peace. It adds approximately 40 minutes to the commute, or one might look at as adding 25 minutes of peace. I find myself taking the extra time to travel this route. Instead of the rush to work…the extra minutes spent on whatever project is slotted for the day, I take the in the greenery, the clear sky, the hills and the blooming flowers.
Sometimes the better path is not the most expedient one. Sometimes those minutes are better spent in a space where there is no goal other than to appreciate what is and to be.
