Oslo to Bergen

Something about Stockholm put me off from gathering my way around Oslo. From arrival in Oslo, I immediately booked the 'Norway in a Nutshell' tour which was incredible. A three hour train ride through the countryside and climbs through the mountains and arriving at what feels like the top of the world. Glaciers, howling wind, rain beating down...breaks of sunlight...incredibly beautiful. The next trains sole purpose was to take us down the fjord to a town called Flam. From Myradal (top of the fjord) to Flam (at the bottom) is a 6km trip on a train with 5 braking systems. You dont see heaps of the fjord itslef as much of the trip is in tunnels...there is even a complete 180 degree turn within the mountain itself...but still the sights were impressive. From Flam you board a boat for two hours and ferry to Gundvagal (spelling is wrong) which gives you the first taste of what the fjords are really like. Will post pictures when I get back, but if you ave ever looked at cruise brochures--it really does look like the advertisements. From the boat you take a bus and then another train to Bergen. Definitely recommend this as a must do for anyone.

No solid plans yet today. Thinking I will walk around Bergen and take in som of the sights and then book a boat trip through the longest fjord...
